4D Project Proposal Continued...

I've decided to change my idea slightly...

Title
An investigation into how the journey of one individual differs over time.

Summary [100 Words]
Instead of having multiple people I will just follow the journey of one individual. I will record the same journey throughout the months, including different times of the day, different days, different weather conditions and so on. I think I will do the same journey and then edit it together so that the journey follows the same path but time occurs randomly; or maybe so that the beginning of the journey starts at the first instance of filming and follows through to the last, this will be something that will be easier to decide on when I have some footage.

Development
I hope to engage with the idea of 4D and to see what impact time can take on a journey; by removing the linear aspect of time this will hopefully give some interesting results. Again, as I said previously I hope to see what comes of the filming instead of looking for something to film, I would rather that the investigation lead me than I lead the investigation. So fingers crossed I will find some interesting footage from the filming. I have yet to decide on a route to take, I will have to draw one up that lasts at least half an hour (don't worry final product will not last 30 mins, I will compress the speed) and takes you through some more interesting parts of Plymouth (body guard on standby)! I think it would be easier to be the subject of my filming and film it from my perspective as trying to get someone else to walk around Plymouth for months on end may prove tricky!

Production Timetable
If I'm right the deadline is in week beginning 16/03/09, so I will aim to get a lot of filming done from now till around end of Feb. This should give me enough time to edit together different mixtures of footage to see what works best and to get a presentation sorted. I will hope to get out filming at least once a week with my shiny new camera that I shall be picking up tomorrow. That should give me at least 20 journeys to work with ranging in all different aspects. I may do a few more around Christmas and on weekends. I think it would be a good idea to try and add town into the trip as this is can be a vibrant place. There will be a while when I will be back in Wiltshire for family festivities so I will have to make sure I do enough journeys to cover that gap.

Output
At the moment I intend on producing a short film, although I will look in to using Flash as an interface to make it more interactive.
